Kennedy Hall of Whitehouse, a freshman at Stephen F. Austin State University, was recently inducted into the university’s Phi Eta Sigma chapter.

Hall, a 2017 graduate of Whitehouse High School, is an interdisciplinary studies major with an emphasis in early childhood through sixth-grade education, and the daughter of Michael and Candace Hall of Whitehouse.

Hall is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Sigma Phi Lambda Sisters for the Lord. She also is a math learning team coach and tutor for SFA’s Academic Assistance and Resource Center and was named to the dean’s list in fall 2017.

Founded in 1923, Phi Eta Sigma is the nation’s oldest and largest interdisciplinary honor society celebrating academic successes of first-year college students for academic excellence. Students must maintain a 3.5 GPA in their first semester or academic year to be eligible to join the organization.
