WH food pantry recognizes community supporters

Posted

Philadelphia Blessing, the Whitehouse Food Pantry, wants to thank this community for donations for food drop offs, the children’s snack bag donations, the school supply drive, canned food drives, Christmas stocking drive donations and all monetary donations we received in 2017. This past year, we services 356 households on a regular basis that included 337 children and 1,095 family members in all. During the Christmas holidays we gave out 317 Christmas food boxes and 97 filled Christmas stockings to children.

We could no accomplish our mission without the support of the wonderful individuals who have brought in donations. We are sending our Thank You cards for those that have signed our donation book with addresses. Also, we would like to thank Tyler metro Church, Whitehouse First United Methodist Church and the individuals that volunteer and give donations each month, the Open Door Sunday School class at First Baptist, the Women’s Sunday School class at Green Acres South Campus, Lake Tyler Baptist, the UM Army, Days Springs Methodist, Amy Bazan and the Busy Bee Tumble Bus Volunteers, cCdy Reel and the Sons of Texas Motorcycle club and Holly Hightower. This is not an all inclusive list as we do not have the addresses or names of all who donated.

Schools in Whitehouse have supported us with canned food drives, stocking stuffers and club drives. Higgins Elementary, Lori Melton and the K-kids from Cain, Holloway Middle School, Whitehouse Junior High and the Whitehouse High School Future Farmers of America have blessed our pantry this past year.

Finally, the businesses that allow us to keep contribution jars on the check-out counters and also contribute in monetary donations through the year are Roquemore’s, Brookshire’s, Little Caesar’s, apache Construction, James Wansley and Gencore Candeo, LTD, Style C Salon, Bobby Henderson and Hormel Foods, Whitehouse Donuts, La Hacienda and La Herradura. These businesses have shown this pantry how much they care for those in need.

May God bless you for what you are helping us do. We are open from 10 a.m. until noon on Mondays and Thursdays. We are also open one evening each month. For more information on how you can help or if we can assist with a need, call (903) 839-6769.
