Pep rallies to celebrate Troup’s 2017 homecoming will take place on Friday with one being held at 10 a.m. at the elementary gym and a second held at the high school stadium beginning at 2:50 p.m. “There’s no place like HOMEcoming” is this year’s theme.
Ceremonies for crowning the homecoming king and queen begin at 7:00 p.m. prior to the football game at Tiger Stadium. This year’s slate of princesses includes Bailee Casteel, Cheyenne Henson, Jansen Reid and Jessie Smith. The 2017 princes are Trevor Everett, Rowdy Howell, Logan Stone and Shane Thomas.
Serving as Troup’s first senior princess is Bailee Casteel. Her parents are Richard and Jennifer Casteel. Bailee’s dad will serve as her escort. Bailee is a varsity cheerleader and is on the power lifting team. She attends church at The Gospel Barn. Her hobbies include playing with her dog and spending time with family and friends, especially her boyfriend Blake. After high school she wants to get into a good nursing program.
Trevor Everett serves as the first senior prince. His parents are Carl and Krista Everett. His mother Krista will serve as his escort. He has played baseball, is on the fishing team, is an FFA member and participates in different agricultural competitions. Trevor attends Green Acres Baptist Church. He enjoys anything outdoors—hunting, fishing, playing golf and working out. After high school, Trevor plans to attend UT Tyler and become a mechanical engineer.
The second senior prince is Rowdy Howell. Rowdy is the son of Jason and Marcia, and will be escorted by his mother Marcia. Rowdy played football, runs track and is on the baseball team. He is also an FFA member and on the fishing & archery teams. Bow fishing, hunting, riding four wheelers and hanging out with friends are his favorite things to do. Rowdy plans to attend TJC.
Cheyenne Henson is the second senior princess. She is the daughter of Jimmy and Mary Henson. Her father will be escorting her. Cheyenne plays volleyball, is a varsity cheerleader and is on the power lifting team. She is also a member of the Executive Student Council and yearbook staff. Her hobbies include coloring and spending time with family and friends. She loves reading to the elementary kids on Fridays. Her future plans are to attend UT Tyler and become a labor and delivery nurse.
Serving as the third senior princess is Jansen Reid. Jansen’s parents are Terry and Susanne Reid. She will be escorted by her father Terry. Jansen plays volleyball, and is a varsity cheerleader. She is a National Honor Society officer, yearbook staff, and is an Executive Student Council officer. Jansen attends First Baptist Church in Mixon. She enjoys spending time with family and riding and competing with her horse Biscuit Snatcher. She plans to attend Texas A&M next fall.
Logan Stone serves as the third senior prince. His parents are April Hicks and Clark Stone. He will be escorted by his mother April. Logan plays basketball, participates in track and is on the tennis team. He played football for three years and is a Nation Honor Society member. He attends Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler. His hobbies are hanging out with friends, playing video games and sports. After graduation Logan plans to attend college and become a physical therapist.
Our final senior prince is Shane Thomas. Shane is the son of Adam and Wendy Thomas. His escort will be his mother Wendy. Shane plays football, basketball and tennis. He also throws discus, where he qualified for the regional meet last year. He is an Executive Student Council officer and is a National Honor Society member. Shane attends First United Methodist Troup. He enjoys spending time with friends. Shane plans to attend Texas A&M and follow God’s plan.
The final senior princess is Jessie Smith. Her parents are David and Cindy Smith. She will be escorted by her father David. At school Jessie is a varsity cheerleader, yearbook staff member, and she played softball as an underclassmen. She attends Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler. Her hobbies include hanging out with friends and family, watching Netflix and reading. In the future she plans to attend University of Louisiana at Monroe and pursue a career in nursing.
