The Troup Rotary Club and Troup ISD are rounding up all the crawfish they can find in East Texas to prepare for the fourth annual Scholarship Crawfish Boil. The big day is Friday, May 5 in downtown Troup.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. volunteers will be scooping up the mud bugs and serving them with corn and potatoes. Crawfish will go for $6 per pound, corn at 50 cent per ear and potatoes three for $1.
The raffle will be a 50/50 raffle this year. Each raffle ticket costs $1, they all go into a pot and the winner gets half of the raffle money and the scholarship fund gets the other half. The more tickets you buy, the better your chances are to be a winner.
Pre-order now for your crawfish party by calling 903-539-4507 or 903-842-5100.
Proceeds from the event go to the Rotary scholarship fund for Troup High School seniors.
