The Troup Chamber of Commerce is exploring the possibility of a city-wide garage sale in the fall and is requesting community input on the subject. The sale, which would likely take place on a Saturday, would be promoted by the Chamber of Commerce and open to all Troup citizens.
Those wishing to participate in the sale would be able to send their address and a listing of items for sale to the chamber which would post the information to its social media site and local media outlets such as the Tri County Leader, according to chamber director Suzanne Loudamy.
The chamber is asking the public to provide feedback on the idea, having posted the query to the Facebook page Troup Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, July 31. They are specifically concerned with whether or not there is community interest is such an event, if those likely to participate would be willing to pay a small fee to the chamber for its promotional efforts and advertising and whether late October or early November would be a suitable time.
