Troup FFA members participated in the Cherokee County Stock Show and Exhibition Thursday-Saturday, March 22-24, in Jacksonville. The students earned many awards and scholarships.
JT Womack, who received $11,000 in scholarships from the Fort Worth livestock show, earned over $4,000 in scholarships at the Cherokee County show and received first place in livestock judging.
Tristan Hardy and Justin Nelson each received over $3,000 in scholarships. Hardy also won Senior Showmanship – rabbits and Reserve Champion – dairy heifer.
“We are very proud of all participants,” stated Lindsey Preston, FFA advisor.

Grand Champion Goat and Senior Showmanship – Holly Weathers

Reserve Grand Champion Exotic Heifer – Mason Hunter
Reserve Champion Barrow – Lindsey Lowry
Reserve Champion Broilers – Natalie Howell
Junior Showmanship Rabbits – Hanna Massey
Junior Showmanship Chickens – Christian Howell
Troup also placed second in the livestock judging contest as a team.
