After six months of sitting inoperative, Sonic will once again open its doors to the residents of Whitehouse. If everything goes according to schedule, Director Cameron McQuilliams plans to open within a week or so.
McQuilliams said the owner, Alvin McQuilliams of Mineola, who also owns 12 other Sonic restaurants in various locations, purchased the Sonic in Whitehouse to help the community.
“No town needs to go without a Sonic,” McQuilliams said. “It’s for the community, so they have another option to eat at.”
Renovations are being completed and IT personnel will install new systems once construction work has been cleared out. All the positions to run the business have been filled and employees are scheduled to begin work opening day. A grand opening celebration is planned for two or three weeks after the restaurant is up and running.
Sonic is located at 433 State Highway 110 N., Whitehouse.
