Summer brings vacations, hot weather and kids looking for something to fill their day. First Baptist Church of Whitehouse will host their annual Vacation Bible School on July 17-21, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. for kids entering K-6th grades.

“This year’s VBS theme is ‘Maker Fun Factory: Created by God, Built for a Purpose.’” Nichole Huggins, FBC Children’s Pastor said. “Children will learn God made you, God is for you, God is always with you, God will always love you and God made you for a reason. These are all foundational truths that even as adults we need reminding of.”

Each day the kids will be introduced to a different character and what that character has to share about being built for a purpose. Monday they will meet Decker the decorator crab, Tina the cathedral termite, Bubba the humpback whale, Skyler the bowerbird and Abbee the bee.

At Maker Fun Factory VBS, kids travel through rotations that reinforce relevant Bible points and immerse kids in new adventures. Sound Wave Sing & Play, Bible discovery, Imagination Station, Game Makers, Snack Factory, KidVid Cinema and Funshop Finale.

“It is our prayer that this year’s VBS will help kids discover that God lovingly created each of us and that He designed us for an amazing purpose,” Huggins said. “We look forward to watching God work as only He can; changing hearts and drawing both children and adults closer to Him. It’s going to be great.”
