Funeral services for Joyce Young Fields, 83, of Troup, were held 11 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017, at Cottle Funeral Home chapel. Brother Larry Craig officiated the services and interment followed at Pinecrest Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home in Troup.
Joyce passed away August 24, 2017, in Tyler. She was born April 27, 1934, in Sadler, Texas to the late Felix Gettie Young and Levina Thurman.
Joyce was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Troup. She attended all game days at First Baptist Church, Cameron J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library and the First Melodist Church. She loved plants and could grow anything, and she loved her dog “Pepper” (17 years old).
She was preceded in death by her husband Jeff Fields; parents; and brothers and sisters, Billy Joe Young, Louella Gray, Jesse Young and Addie Mae Stevens.
Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl Lynn Fields Merritt of Idaho, Juanita Kay Fields Butler of Tyler, Karla Jean Fields McCormack of Troup; four grandchildren, Jeff Fields McCormack, Dale Hobbs, Brittany Hobbs, Malorey Butler; and numerous family and friends.
The family received friends and loved ones Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Leslie Ford, Matthew Ford, CH Ford, Leon Gray, Billy Thurman Young, Louey Coser and Todd Fields.
