Funeral services for Jack K. Murray, 81, of Troup was held Sunday, March 12, at Cottle Funeral Home with Reverend Steven Oakes officiating. Interment followed at Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Murray passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, in Tyler. He was born Oct.14, 1935, in Konawa, Oklahoma to Bose and Anna Belle Ingram Murray. He ran Exxon Service Stations in Overton, New London and Troup. He served as the President of Troup ISD for five years during the mid-70s, and attended Bible Baptist Church for several years. Murray was a rancher and farmer, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Murray and his parents.
Survivors include his sons, Dudley Murray and wife Lisa and Jackie Murray and wife Lela all of Troup; brother, Bill Murray of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Pauline Spencer, Helen Klutz, and Ruth Gideon, all of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Christopher Murray, Crystal Robles and husband Ruben, Tiffany Taylor and husband Spencer, Justin Keith Murray and wife Laci, Whitney McCallister and husband Jarrad, and Brandy Murray and Britt Austin; also, eleven great grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers were Theodore H. Johnson, Billy Melton and Billy Witt.
