Services for Gordon Jack Thanisch, 75, were held April 3 at First Baptist Church in Whitehouse with Dr. Ray Davis and Edith Brewer officiating. Burial followed in Bridges Cemetery near Henderson under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Thanisch passed away Thursday March 30, 2017, in Ft. Worth.
He was born May 18, 1941, in Dickens County to Claud Thanisch and Frances Rathgeber Thanisch.
Gordon was a member and a deacon of First Baptist Church in Whitehouse and a former deacon at Tate Springs Baptist Church in Arlington, and he was a Gideon for more than 25 years.
He retired from Neiman Marcus as an accountant, and worked for Bell Helicopter.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Powell; his father and mother-in-law, A.B. and Ethel Patterson
He is survived by his loving family including his wife Kay P. Thanisch, as of July 1st they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; children, Scott Thanisch and wife Dawn, Lin Cooke and husband Clayton, Melissa Mutchler and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Chase Roberts and wife Stephanie, Ryan Roberts, Aubrey Roberts, Cooper Thanisch, Darby Thanisch, Grayson Thanisch, Justus Thanisch, Ethan Mutchler and Ezra Mutchler; sister, Janna Cutright.
Pallbearers were Chase Roberts, Ryan Roberts, Cooper Thanisch, Grayson Thanisch, Justus Thanisch, Ethan Mutchler and Ezra Mutchler.
Honorary pallbearers were The Open Door Sunday School Class, Jeff Mutchler and Clayton Cooke.
