Founding Mothers of Hope created

Julie Wood, a board member of a local Non-Profit, New Creation Foundation Inc. has created a No Show Mothers Day fund-raiser to meet a critical need in the community.

Here is her why in her own words.

For the past 15 years I have volunteered for the Pregnancy Resource center doing ultrasounds on mothers. It has been such a blessing to show a mother the life that grows inside of her.

It is through this ministry that I encounter moms that are struggling with addiction and abuse. Many of them want help but they have other children and don’t want to leave them to get that help. You see once a child gets into the foster care system it is so hard for moms to get their kids back. We have maternity houses in town with Father Heart and Magdalen House but they are not geared to for moms with addictions or that have other children. God has called me to do something about this so hope can be restored.

As a mother in this community, I have prayed, and God has led me to you, to be a “FOUNDING MOTHER OF HOPE.” We are gathering moms in this community to donate at least $100 to help fund a house which will house 10-12 moms who are struggling with life controlling issues and be able to keep their children with them in a Christian based 12 month program. Founding Mothers will have their name on a plaque on the property. You will be blessed knowing you have helped another mother out. We ask that each of you reach out to 10 mothers to be a part of “Founding Mothers of Hope.”

The property that we want to purchase will impact this problem for mothers with children in East Texas who desire to be freed from their addictions. Our mission is to raise funds that will purchase a 3,300 square foot house on three peaceful acres of land. The three acres will allow us plenty of room for expansion as the need increases. Our goal is to raise the down payment: $64,000 in the next 30 days. Property cost is $329,000 and is located at 1868 County Rd 4913, Troup.

New Creation Foundation has been involved in the recovery ministry in the East Texas community since 2010. They are a recognized 501(c)3.
