Mason House, who graduated from Whitehouse High School last week, is listed among the top 70 baseball draft prospects according to mlb.com/prospects/2017.
House also was named to the 2017 Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State, Class-5A roster, Second Team outfielder.
The 2017 MLB draft was held June 12-14 (prior to press time) and can be viewed on MLB Network and MLB.com.
House, who bats and throws left handed, is ranked 66 among the top 100 prospects. At 6-2 and 190 pounds, he has committed to play at Oklahoma State, according to the MLB.com website.
His scouting grades included Hit: 45; Power: 55; Run: 55; Arm: 50; Field: 55; and Overall: 45.
The website describes House “with extremely athletic actions, House already looks like a big leaguer. He generates a lot of bat speed with his loose left-handed swing and gets good leverage out of his projectable frame.”
