Tatum Hunter placed sixth overall in the varsity division, William Hunter crossed the finish line in ninth place, Matthew Castillo won the junior varsity division, and Sarah Neel won the middle school girls division at the annual American Warrior Cross Country Run at Brook Hill Saturday, Sept. 2.
Troup did not have enough girls for a team score in the varsity division, but Tatum Hunter placed sixth overall with a time of 14:23.17. Tayler Vance placed 34th with a time of 17:42.5, and Tala Garcia had a time of 25:01 for 44th place.
For the varsity boys, William Hunter recorded a time of 19:40.92 to finish among the top 10 runners. Also for the Tigers, Jared Garcia placed 26th with a time of 21:29.1; Ales Flora finished 27th with a time of 21:46.1; Dalton Puckett placed 40th with a time of 22:22.9; Jacob Nelson had a 57th place time of 24:34; and Chadd Cole placed 64th with a time of 27:10.
Neel paced the Troup girls to third place with a team score of 115 points. Neel won the division in a time of 13:53.47. Also for the Lady Tigers, Mari Hunter placed third with a time of 14:07.32; Jaycee Eastman was 12th with a time of 15:24.8; Meredith Howell posted a 27th place time of 16:51; and Danielle Puckett posted a time of 17:22 for 32nd place.
In the junior varsity boys division, Castillo was the only Troup runner. He posted the winning time of 21:04.19.
Arp’s Israel Lopez was 28th in the varsity boys division with a time of 21:46.4. Also for Arp, Colton Smith was 43rd with a time of 22:28, and Cole Bardsley posted a 61st time of 26:00.
In the varsity girls division, Jasmine Cavazos led Arp with a time of 17:07 for 32nd place. Also, Natalie Wiggins posted a time of 18:12 (37th place); Nicole Geislman recorded a time of 18:18 (38th place); and Eliana Smith recorded a time of 19:32 (42nd place).
