Troup to hold library book sale

The preview sale for the Cameron – J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library will be held 1-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The entry fee for the preview sale is $5.00. The public sale will run Wednesday, Oct. 25 – Sat. Oct. 28. Hours on Wednesday and Friday are 1-5 p.m., Thursday, 3-7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The library can be contacted at (903) 842-3101.

Halloween in the Park

Whitehouse Parks and Recreation will host Halloween in the Park from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. There will be a showing of Hotel Transylvania 2 in the park immediately following the Halloween event. Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for the movie. 

First Baptist Church Omen

The First Baptist Church Omen (FBCO) invites the public to participate in its Fall Festival to be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. There will be games and trick-or-treating for the kids and lots of food, fun and fellowship for all. FBCO is located on State Highway 345 at County Road 285, 2 miles west of Arp.

Recycle-Recycle-Recycle

Republic Services in Whitehouse picks up recycling on Wednesday. Recyclable items include paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. 

Troup has a self-service recycling receptacle. The Allied Waste Recycling bin is located at the corner of W. Bradford and N. Georgia.

Jam session and sing along

Jam session and sing along runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. each Friday. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate. Acoustic instruments only. Music includes Country, Bluegrass and Gospel. TASCA members are free. Guests are $1 each. TASCA is located at 10495 CR 2167 (Jim Russell Rd), in Whitehouse. 

American Legion weekly events

American Legion in Troup at 301 Magnolia has pool tournaments beginning at 7 p.m. each Wednesday night.
