Whitehouse girls named to Ouachita Baptist Dean's List

A total of 377 students at Ouachita Baptist University were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester. The students will receive a certificate of recognition from Ouachita and will be included in the "National Dean's List" for 2016-17. 

Students included from Whitehouse are Mollie McBride and Jessica Ulmen. 

To be named to the Dean's List, a student must compile at least a 3.5 grade point average and be classified as a full-time student, with a minimum of 12 academic hours.

Whitehouse students among TAMU graduates

Diplomas were awarded to approximately 4,600 Texas A&M University graduates during fall commencement ceremonies. 

Among those receiving degrees were Parker W. Jenkins - Bachelor of Science - Sport Management; Alvaro Lopez - Bachelor of Science - Civil Engineering (CUM LAUDE);  Erin E. Odom - Bachelor of Arts - Horticulture and Donald R. Viergever - Bachelor of Science - University Studies, all of Whitehouse.

Whitehouse students named to TAMU honor rolls

Texas A&M University has named its honor students for the fall semester, recognizing them for outstanding academic performance. 

The Dean's Honor Roll recognizes students taking at least 15 semester hours during the fall semester who have maintained a 3.75 or higher grade point (GPR) out of a possible 4.0.

A second designation, "Distinguished Student," recognizes those who earned a 3.5 to 3.74 GPR while taking at least 15 hours for the fall semester.

Among those recognized on the Dean's Honor Roll were Christopher D. Kunzman of Whitehouse studying for his Bachelor of Business Admin. - Management and Stoker S. Williams of Arp who is working on his Bachelor of Science - Biomedical Sciences.  

Whitehouse DU banquet set

The Whitehouse Ducks Unlimited 31st annual banquet will be held on Friday Feb. 17, at K.E. Bushman's in Bullard. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m.

Events this year will include live auction, silent auction, games and raffles. They will have one of the largest gun raffles in East Texas with a stand on its own 50-gun raffle. There will be over 40 more guns offered throughout the evening in the live auction and other raffles along with Yeti and K2 coolers. Lots of wildlife prints, DU decoys and many other items for men and women will also be raffle prizes.
