It is always good to start district action with a victory and Troup was able to accomplish that goal last week. In their second loop action, however, the Lady Tigers fell in overtime to Winona Friday, Dec. 15. Troup, 12-4 for the season and 1-1 in the District 15-3A standings, was scheduled to host Harmony in district competition Tuesday, Dec. 19, and will next play in the Brownsboro Classic Thursday and Friday, Dec. 28 and 29. Troup began District 15-3A competition with Harmony at home Tuesday, Dec. 19, and the Tigers will play a non-district contest at Kennard at noon Friday, Dec. 22. Troup also will host the Glen Evans Classic Thursday and Friday, Dec. 28 and 29. The Tigers will resume district action at Cumberland Academy Tuesday, Jan. 2. Whitehouse will be one of 16 teams that will participate in the annual Macy Chenevert Classic at T.K. Gorman’s Haddad Gymnasium and UT Tyler’s Herrington Patriot Center. more
The Whitehouse wrestling club competed with 15 other Dallas area high schools at the Wylie Invitational Saturday, Dec. 16.   The team consists of mainly beginning wrestlers and are coached by Rick Green, Duane Herring and Joe Cloutier. The teams represented Whitehouse well and came home with several medals.   more
The 2017 UIL Football State Championships started Wednesday and will continue through Saturday, Dec. 20-23, all at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Sophomore Desmond Deason was named Newcomer of the Year on the 9-3A, Division 2, All-District roster. Troup and Arp players received several accolades on the honorary team. Senior Ramiro Martinez was named one of the Utility Players of the Year and junior Matt Adams was First Team punter and was listed among the defensive backs on the Second Team roster. more
It was another check on their list of goals for the 2017 season. The Troup golf team has been able to check off the goal of playing well during the regular season tournaments, and earlier in April the Tigers checked off the goal of winning the District 15-3A title. more
Male and female athletes attending WISD are eligible to attend the 2017 Wildcat Training Camp, a strength and conditioning camp scheduled for July 5-20. more
