The University Interscholastic League Legislative Council met Tuesday, June 12, to make decisions on proposed rule changes in UIL academics, athletics, music and policy. In athletics, the council approved the strengthening of penalties for players who are ejected from a contest, modified scrimmage start dates for baseball and softball. The council also modified fall practice regulations and spring training for football. more

The results from this survey will help TPWD make informed management decisions regarding this species in the near future. more

The weekly Hilltop Country Club Senior Scramble results for Tuesday, June 5, are as follows: The first place team at minus -14 included John Covington, Robert Davis, David Alexander, Gil Weston and Joe Gatzka. In the closest-to-the-pin contest, Robert Davis won the sixth green (112.25 inches) and John Covington won the 17th green (205.5 inches). more
Former Whitehouse standout McKade Marquis scored 15 points in the Faith 7 Basketball Bowl played Saturday, June 9, in Shawnee, Okla. Marquis was true on five three-point baskets for his 15 points and he added four rebounds and a steal to his stats. Marquis signed a letter of intent to play at the University of Texas at Arlington. more
Whitehouse High school coaches sponsored a volleyball camp at the campus last week. Girls from first- through eighth-grades participated. more
Hilltop Country Club in Troup hosted the weekly Senior Scramble Tuesday, May 29. The first place team at minus -17 included Joe Hondo Davenport, John Welch, Mike Hazel, Ken Starnes and Rusty Adams. more
The Troup Tigers finished the 2018 baseball season with a 32-5 record and as District 15-3A champions, bi-district champions, area champs, regional quarterfinal champions and regional semi-finalists. Troup posted a 56-13 mark for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, a marked turnaround from the 6-49 record posted for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Tell Ross was the head coach for the Tigers. more
Despite a young team that featured only four seniors, Whitehouse advanced to the first round of the State baseball playoffs before falling to State-ranked College Station. Junior pitcher Blake Beasley and catcher Ashton Rogers, a sophomore, were named to the First Team All-District 17-5A roster. more
