The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department graduated the 62nd Texas game warden and state park police officer cadet class July 30 at the Texas State Capitol. The class included 23 game wardens and seven state park police officers. more
Okay! There is no smell of autumn in the air, but “fall” sports are ramping up for action. The Troup and Whitehouse volleyball programs started practice and scrimmages last week and both jumped into the regular season Tuesday, Aug. 7. The Lady Tigers are also scheduled to participate in the Van Tournament Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10 and 11, while the Ladycats of Whitehouse will travel to play in the Duncanville Tournament Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 9-11. more

It was still dark outside when the Brook Hill Guard varsity football team marched its way back onto Young Field at Herrington Stadium for the first time this season, as the team held the second annual Brook Hill Midnight Football Practice event under the stars and lights at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1. more
The first Bullard Panther varsity football game of the 2018 season is a mere 23 days away. Now, all Panther fans are now able to purchase their seats for home games, as season tickets for the general public are now available for purchase. Panther football season tickets were officially available for purchase Tuesday, Aug. 7 and are continued to be made available at the Bullard High School Field House. more
A total of 13 athletes on the Brook Hill Guard varsity soccer team for the 2017-2018 season recently were presented with accolades marking their achievements on the field, as the TAPPS Division II District 3 district awards were announced. On the First Team All-District listing, the Guard earned a total of six recognitions, including sophomore midfielder Winston Hebert, senior goalie Josh Jenkins, senior defender Sam Nechi, senior midfielder Mac Rose, sophomore defender Jake Shaffer,, and freshman forward Zakhar Zapolskyy. more
With the 2017-2018 season for the Brook Hill Lady Guard varsity soccer team now written in the chronicles of history, several of the team’s athletes are being honored for their skills and abilities, as the TAPPS Division II District 3 All-District Accolades list was recently announced. more
With the start of the 2018-2019 school year just weeks away, the Bullard Panther football program has begun working to prepare for the upcoming season on the gridiron, as the annual two-a-day practices started on Monday, Aug. 6. “We’re excited about it being that time of year again,” said Scott Callaway, Bullard Panther head football coach and athletic director. “Friday Night Lights are coming in just a few short weeks. Even with our younger freshman and junior varsity teams, we’re excited to see what kind of talent we have. As a football coach, when it’s a game you have a passion and love for, you’re always excited to start off the new season.” more
