After suffering a one-run loss to Arp, the Troup Lady Tigers put three victories together to finish the first round of district competition at 3-2. Last week, Troup handily defeated Winona 22-1, and was able to hold on for a 10-8 win over West Rusk in District 15-3A action. The Lady Tigers began the second round of loop play at Harmony Tuesday, April 4, and will host Arp at 6 p.m. Friday, April 7. Troup will play at Sabine at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 11. Kaitlyn Wood paced the Ladycats at the Tommy Miller Relays in Hallsville on Friday, March 31. With a personal best performance, Wood captured first place in the high jump with a leap of 5-2. She also placed fourth in the shot put. more
Cain Elementary hosted the Tyler Junior College Apache’s women soccer team to help teach students about soccer and play with them.   Since Cain is a “No Excuses University” school, administrators like to promote college even at an early age.  more
With the game tied at 6-6 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Makala Moore took a pitch from Lindale’s Hannah Knox and smacked it past the infield for a double. The high drove in the winning run in walk-off fashion to give Whitehouse a 7-6 victory over Lindale in District 17-5A action last week. more
Troup battled Madisonville for the team title at the Troup Invitational last week at the Pine Springs Golf Club in Tyler. It came down to the final holes but the Mustangs were able to claim the championship with a 289. more
Whitehouse was a selfish host at the Wildcat Relays the Wildcats hosted Thursday, March 23. With 14 teams vying for the championship, Whitehouse claimed first place in the boys division and third place in the girls division. more
