To incorporate a track metaphor, Adam Cook handed the baton to Marcus Gold. Cook was the head football coach for the Whitehouse Wildcats from 2013 through 2017. Whitehouse Athletic Director Randy Copeland, who replaced Richard Peacock in August 2015, retired at the end of the 2017-2018 school year and Cook took over the athletic director duties for the Whitehouse Independent School District. more

Whitehouse’s Walker LaRue placed ninth in the Martin Lawrence Junior Open at the Dallas Athletic Club June 11-12. LaRue carded a 78-70—148 to place among the top ten in a field of 71 linksters. Matthew Griggs of Prosper fired a 69-66—135 to win the tournament. Matthew Watkins of Heath placed second after he posted a 73-67—140. The tournament was hosted by the North Texas PGA Junior Tour. more

In the closest-to-the-pin contest, Ken Starnes won the third green (46.5 inches) and Sue Olson won the sixth green (343.5 inches). more
