Whitehouse and Troup football practice begin Monday, Aug. 7, to officially open the 2017 season. The Tigers will scrimmage at Sabine Friday, Aug. 18, and Troup will host Union Grove in a scrimmage Thursday, Aug. 24. The regular season will begin Friday, Sept. 1, when the Tigers host Spring Hill. Meet the Tigers is slated to start at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at the Troup High School gym. Troup fans will meet the fall sports teams, cheerleaders and more at the event. more
Whitehouse and Troup are featured in the 2017 Pigskin Preview sponsored by CBS19 and Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health System. Troup is not selected as one of the teams to vie for the District 9-3A title, but gets a nod for a possible dark horse. more
The Whitehouse varsity squad will play in the Duncanville Tournament, while the junior varsity and freshmen teams will play in the Spring Hill Tournament Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11 and 12. more

The Wildcat Youth Football League 2017 season starts Saturday, Aug. 26. As soon as schedules are made, they will be posted on the website and team coaches and moms will be able to share this information. more

The 7th Annual “Tee Off for Toys” Golf Tournament will be Monday Sept. 25, at Hideaway Lake Golf Course. Hosted by the Tyler Professional Firefighters Association, the four-player scramble benefits The Salvation Army’s annual Angel Tree program. Each player is also asked to bring an unwrapped toy ($10 and up value) with them on the tournament day.   more
The annual Tee Off for Hope Golf Tournament will be Monday, Sept. 11, at the Hollytree Country Club in Tyler. Registration and warm-up will start at noon and a shotgun start is slated for 1 p.m. Fees are $125 per player or $500 per team (four players), which includes green fees, unlimited range balls, dinner and special prizes. Cash awards will be $800 for first place, $500 for second place and $300 for third place. more
