Pep rallies to celebrate Troup’s 2017 homecoming will take place on Friday with one being held at 10 a.m. at the elementary gym and a second held at the high school stadium beginning at 2:50 p.m. “There’s no place like HOMEcoming” is this year’s theme. Ceremonies for crowning the homecoming king and queen begin at 7:00 p.m. prior to the football game at Tiger Stadium. This year’s slate of princesses includes Bailee Casteel, Cheyenne Henson, Jansen Reid and Jessie Smith. The 2017 princes are Trevor Everett, Rowdy Howell, Logan Stone and Shane Thomas. more

Steve Hickey, with WRL General Contractors, presented the board members with a construction update at the Whitehouse ISD board meeting Monday, Aug. 21. Construction fences have been erected at Whitehouse High School to “protect the kids and segregate the construction traffic away from the general population of the campus,” Hickey said. more
The Troup ISD Tax Ratification Election (TRE) to raise the tax rate to $1.22 has passed. The election was held Saturday, Aug. 26, and narrowly approved 138 to 121. more
The Texas Education Agency recently released the 2017 state accountability ratings and distinction designations applicable to each individual school. Distinction designations are awarded to campuses based on achievement in performance indicators relative to a group of 40 campuses of similar type, size, and student demographics. Depending on campus grade levels and type, the number of potential distinction designations can vary.  more
Officers and members of the Whitehouse FFA team participated in the 89th Texas FFA State Convention in Corpus Christi during the week of July 10. Abby Johnston, Rachel Clark, Ashley Rozell, Mason Shackelford, Leslie Hargis, Brittin Palmer, Shanna Sebring, Emmy Walley, Zacc Tolbert, and Alyssa Hurley left a day early for a team bonding experience at Schlitterbahn. more
