Cain Elementary Assistant Principal Stephanie Schminkey received an unexpected phone call recently from the Education Department at Baylor University. “I got the call late in the day so I called the lady from Baylor back on my cell phone as I was driving home,” Schminkey said. “I had to pull the car over, I was so overwhelmed.” more
Whitehouse FFA attended the Area 6 FFA CDE (career development event) contest held at Texas A&M Commerce April 12. With a total of six teams attending, Whitehouse advanced four teams to the state level.  more
Troup FFA’s Meat Evaluation CDE team consisting of Justin Nelson, JT Womack, Garrett Towery and Tyler Lloyd competed at the Area VI competition and placed 5th, advancing to the state competition at Texas A&M University on April 29. This team evaluates carcasses for quality and yield grade, take a written exam, and identifies retail cuts of meat. JT Womack was 9th place individual. more
The Troup Rotary Club and Troup ISD are rounding up all the crawfish they can find in East Texas to prepare for the fourth annual Scholarship Crawfish Boil. The big day is Friday, May 5 in downtown Troup. more
