The Whitehouse ISD trustees’ meeting began with accolades to several members of the Wildcat family. WJHS Principal Josh Garred was chosen as the 2017-18 TASSP Middle School Principal of the Year for Region 7. “This honor is a reflection of the work being done at the junior high by he and his staff on behalf of our students,” WISD Superintendent Dr. Chris Moran said. “Kudos to you.” more

The Whitehouse High School First Ladies Officers recently returned from the American Dance/Drill Team officer camp in Rockwall. First Ladies Director Kayla Norman said the girls were challenged and worked hard all week earning top awards for their performances. more

The Shark Brothers will appear at 1 and 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 23 and 24, at the Center for Earth & Space Science Education at Tyler Junior College. Tickets are $5 for children, seniors and students and $7 for adults. Parking is free. more

School may be out for the summer and kids are nowhere near campus, but the Whitehouse Junior High School honor band continues their quest up the ranks of the Texas Music Educators Association contest on a recording. The group recently took first place in the Region 21, Class 3C Region Honor Band Listening Session held in Lindale. more
