The Smith County Elections Office saw a grand total of 835 people register to vote in the upcoming Tuesday, Nov. 8 elections in a timeframe of just two days last week. “I have had several people tell me this is the first time they have registered to vote,” Smith County Elections Administrator Karen Nelson said. There was even an 82-year-old woman who registered for the first time on Tuesday. I feel that because both Presidential candidates are so well known, it has caused people to be very interested in this election.” more
The Whitehouse Community Library has several days of fun coming up. On Friday, Oct. 21, 3:30-5 p.m. kids can come by and have their face painted just for fun. Maybe be a super hero or just a funny face. more
