We’ve begun a new year. In so many ways, I wanted to say “Good riddance!” to 2016 on Saturday night. The truth is, even as awful a year as it was for so many of us, it’s sort of like erasing your hard teen years or trying to forget a terrible relationship from your past. It all plays into who you are today, it is part of your story. So wiping away 2016 and trying to forget it altogether seems like a nice idea, but the things we experienced, the lives we lived, the trials and the tribulations all make up who we will become in the future. more
