Community Activities Major Thaddeus Beall Chapter NSDAR to hold meeting The next meeting of the Major Thaddeus Beall Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at Caddo Mounds State Historical site, 1649 State Highway 21 West, in Alto. The site is located approximately six miles west of the four-way stop in Alto where Highway 60 and State Highway 21 cross in Alto and is well marked by state signs. NSDAR chapter members and guests are being asked to bring a sack lunch to be eaten at the site following the program. more

Community Activities Rockin’ Christmas The Whitehouse Christmas parade begins 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. Those who want to participate in the parade must submit an entry form and must be signed up by Nov. 30. Forms can also be picked up and dropped off at Kelly A/C and Heating, 208 Highway 110 South, or Kay Taylor – Farmer’s Insurance, 1008 Highway 110 South. Forms can also be found on the Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce website, www.whitehousetx.com. more
Community Activities Recycle-Recycle-Recycle Republic Services in Whitehouse picks up recycling on Wednesday. Recyclable items include paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. Troup has a self-service recycling receptacle. The Allied Waste Recycling bin is located at the corner of W.
