Community Activities National Weather Service gives classes The Tyler Amateur Radio Club (TARC) and the East Texas Emergency Communication Service (ETECS) will host a National Weather Service (NWS) spotter training session on their Skywarn program. Basic and advance spotter classes will be given at the session beginning promptly at 6 p.m. and concluding at 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Shiloh Road Church of Christ. The church is located at 1801 Shiloh Road at the corner of Paluxy Drive in Tyler. Anyone interested in being a storm spotter is invited. The training is free. The website for TARC is more

Community Activities Recycle-Recycle-Recycle Republic Services in Whitehouse picks up recycling on Wednesday. Recyclable items include paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. Troup has a self-service recycling receptacle. The Allied Waste Recycling bin is located at the corner of W. Bradford and N. Georgia. more
Community Activities TCDC to meet The Troup Community Development Corporation is meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22. The meeting is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
