Community Activities Major Thaddeus Beall Chapter NSDAR to hold meeting The next meeting of the Major Thaddeus Beall Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at Caddo Mounds State Historical site, 1649 State Highway 21 West, in Alto. The site is located approximately six miles west of the four-way stop in Alto where Highway 60 and State Highway 21 cross in Alto and is well marked by state signs. NSDAR chapter members and guests are being asked to bring a sack lunch to be eaten at the site following the program. more

Church Activities HCUMC hosts fifth Sunday singing A Fifth Sunday Singing will be held at the Henry’s Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 4539 FM 13 E, 6 miles east of Troup. The program will begin at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, and afterwards guests will be treated to a hamburger cook-out. The HCUMC choir will be featured as well as several guest musicians. Community Activities Troup chamber to host awards banquet The Troup Chamber of Commerce will host the annual awards banquet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Troup High School.
